Spring Surprise!

The latest in spring fashion has arrived and here is what my husband's reaction to it all was -

So I am sure you are wondering what the surprise is...

And a little cheese with the sassy cat.

I will be donating the approximately 10 inches that I cut off on Friday March 28, 2008 to Locks of Love. It is quite a shocker for people and today at church everyone was so amazed. I LOVE IT and Peter really likes it too even though he said he would never like short hair! Washing it in the shower was the best thing ever I hardly used any shampoo and it took like two seconds (I was a little weirded out when I went to pull down my locks of wet hair while washing and NOTHING was there!)

It all started in Hungary. I found a magizine ad with this girl in it who had the CUTEST short hair cut and I showed it to Peter and he thought it would be okay but he (like always) tried to point out something that that girl had that I didn't, in this case it was wavy hair but that didn't bother me. So while we were there Peter all of the sudden decided to change his mind and told me that I should cut my hair! I was shocked and knew that I needed to take advantage of this fast or I might never receive his good wishes again when cutting my hair. We found a place where his old Mission President and his wife used to get their hair cut (I was a little nervous because who knows, it was Hungary for heaven sakes...) We walked into the salon and Peter began talking with this really cute lady with a really cute short hair cut! However when they finished talking Peter told me to my dismay that they were all booked out for the day. Oh well I guess I would just have to wait and pester Peter some more one day when I was feeling up to it.

Well when we got home I continued to think about that hair cut but didn't really say too much about it. On Thursday night Peter asked me if I was going to set up an appointment with my hair stylest, Karen Jorgensen. I asked him if I could and he said, "You better!"

Friday while I was at work I thought and thought about the hair cut all day and then just before lunch Peter called and told me to set up my appointment for TODAY! As soon as we got off the phone I called Karen and she was able to fit me in at 4 o'clock. I could hardly focus the rest of the day! Peter was really excited to see it too.

I am so glad I have cut my hair and just in time for the heat of the summer! Hope you all like it! And if you are thinking of cutting it all off... JUST DO IT!

Here is the most recent picture taken of me before I got my hair cut. (This was taken for work).

Bena Macska

The stupid cat has been driving me CRAZY tonight. Peter was gone on some business appointments and so I became her best buddy tonight. I was working on getting those Hungary pictures edited and posted and the WHOLE time she was walking back and forth across my keyboard pressing delete buttons and other fun little buttons, trying to sit on my lap then biting me when I start to pet her. Then I started doing some laundry and of course she thought that was her play time so all of the clothes were targets of her madness and anytime I would move she would run like crazy around our bed knocking off folded towels and clothes every where! UGGH! I don't know if I will be able to handle a toddler... well I guess I will love them more.

Do you see why we call her the devil????

And we're back...

Hello everyone! Peter and I are back from our trip to Hungary (well we have been back for a week now but with family coming in for Easter, things have been a little crazy around here) and we had the most wonderful time ever! Seeing as it was my first time to the continent of Europe I was fascinated with oldness of everything! My belief that Europe was meant to be photographed in BLACK AND WHITE has been re-affirmed.

Budapest was a place of wonder and surprise. We found so many interesting things there from buildings to people. It was such a treat to meet those who Peter interacted with while he served his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
We also got to ride trains from Budapest to other cities both in the East and in the West.

The weather was pretty cold but not unbearable however we kept ourselves warm by walking EVERYWHERE! My legs were sore and I slept like a rock every night. (No jet lag problems for me.) Not very many people there speak English so there was a lot of me just smiling and nodding (I kind of felt dumb only knowing how to say "thank you", "you're welcome", "hello", "cat", and counting to ten for people. Oh well I guess that is what Peter was for, hehe. All right enough of my blabbing here are the pics!

*Gellert Hedge (hill) The building pictured above is a hotel that sits right underneath the hill called Gellert Hedge on which the statue (memorial) pictured below sits upon.

*They have amazingly long and fast escalators in the Metros in Budapest. (Pictured below)

*Pictured above is Fishermans Bastion. I guess you could call it a fortress and in one of the turrets there is a sacrifice table (I took a picture of it but is was so dark you can't tell what it is.) Below is the church that sits behind the Bastion. They are apparently doing some fix'er up'er work on this one but you can still see the amazing detail. The roof was the best part but due to the night I couldn't get a close enough picture of which you could tell what it was.

Ahh... last but not least... FORNETTI! Peter and I ate this every day for breakfast. We brought some back with us and it was ok the next day heated up in the microwave.

Stuck on those bellies!

Ok so here are my first of many to come! I absolutely love how beautiful her little belly is. She is almost 8 months along and you can hardly tell she is just a beautiful {soon to be} mommy who will be having a beautiful little BOY! I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

I DID IT!

The Maternity Shoot was SO much fun! The girl we shot was beautiful! Long and lean and just a cute little belly. We first took advantage of the beautiful sunlight and just before sunset went to the LDS Temple grounds and got some fun ones in their beautiful grass and cool old trees. Once it got too dark for decent pictures we went to my friend's house (she was my assistant on the shoot) and set up a mini studio and captured a few more good ones there!

It was so exciting, all I wanted to do was upload and get to work however we had a dinner appointment with some friends and so I have yet to even get a good look through them. :(

Tonight should allow me some time to work on a few and I will get them posted ASAP! Check back for updates on those pics.

Ps. Only 6 days until HUNGARY! Wahooooooo
